An osteopath will never look at your sport injury in isolation. The treatment will be directed to the bit that ‘hurts’ but also the mechanism that has produced the injury and its whole body effect
Also general Sports massage available
Regular Sports massage should be on every sports person agenda. Sports massage can help to prevent injuries in or outside the gym. Particularly indicated for anybody preparing for an event such a marathon or any other sports competition.
Some of the common sport injuries that we treat are:
– Shoulder pain: a common injury related to weight training, tennis, badmington, squash, swimming and other sports in which a ‘throwing’ action is essential such as cricket or rugby.
– Elbow and Wrist pain: Tennis elbow is a common injury that relates to pain on the outside of the elbow joint. They can be common amongst tennis players, but also in other racket sports, weight-training, athletics, musicians or people working with computers.
– Legs, knees and ankle pain: It’s very common amongst footballers, runners, rugby players or virtually any other sport which involves running, twisting, climbing.
– Back, neck, pelvis and hip pain: Most of the times a localised injury will produce a knock-on effect, so what could appear like an isolated knee pain, for example, may have its origin in the lower back or the pelvis, or the other way around. Nothing works in isolation, and we’ll try to find the root cause of the problem and treat the whole body, and not only the bit that hurts.
